The Fallen is one of the original Prime Transformers and the original Decepticon. He betrayed the Primes so that he could blow up Earths sun and keep all the power to himself. He was first seen in the comics series called 'The War Within' and was chosen as the main villian for the Transformers sequel Revenge of the Fallen.

In Revenge of the Fallen the Decepticons need the ancient information in Sam Witwicky's head to find the Harvester that will destroy the Earths sun and harvest it's energy. The Fallen arrives on Earth with his Decepticon allies and sinks an aircraft carrier before announcing the Decepticons arrival to the world and demanding the humans turn over Sam Witwicky. The Fallen originally betrayed his Prime brothers forcing them to take the Matrix of Leadership and hide it from him to stop him activating the Harvester. Only a Prime can defeat the Fallen so Optimus Prime is needed more than ever.
