Since the dawn of comic book heroes fans have asked each other the unanswerable questions. Who would win in a fight? Wolverine or Hulk? Superman or Thor? Batman or Catman? Maybe that’s not the No. 1 fight fans are waiting for but you get the idea. It’s always fun trying to figure out who would be the victor in a battle royale.
The recent Avengers Versus X-Men pits Marvels heroes against one another. So we get Cyclops taking on Captain America, Hulk vs Collosus and Daredevil going up against Arachangel. You get lots of fights you didn’t even know you wanted to see. In this regular feature named BangZap Battles I will try to shed some light on very random battles you had no clue you wanted to read about. Leave a comment if there’s a battle you’d like decided but keep them unsusual. Some suggestions. Stormtroopers versus Gremlins, Spiderman vs Godzilla or Wolverine versus PC Worlds customer service.
That said. This months battle isn’t too far fetched. Yes, they don’t appear in the same comics or movies (It would be fun to see Nick Fury at the end of a Transformers movie recruiting Decepticons though. ) but they are evenly matched.
Iron Man Vs Starscream
In the red corner. Iron Man from the Marvel comic books and movies is a human man named Tony Stark who wears an advanced suit of battle armour. When Tony is injured in an explosion he ends up needing a device placed in his chest to keep shrapnel out of his heart. Being a bit of a whizz with technology he makes sure that the device can also power an awesome battle suit that allows him to fly and shoot missiles around. Well, you would wouldn’t you? His weaknesses include a fondness for the booze and a tendency to show off. Although these could be considered strengths depending on how you look at it.
In the grey corner. Starscream is second in command to Megatron of the Decepticons. Starscream is a massive robot who turns into a fighter jet so that immediately makes him very cool and dangerous to know. Starscream is bristling with firepower. He’s got lots of missiles and machine guns and is the violent type. He does not however have the smarts that Tony does. He’s more of a shoot missile first laugh about it later kind of character.
The Verdict
Both are fast and manuevarable and they both have thrusters that allow them to hover in different directions. If the battle took place in a cramped space like a city then Iron Man could do well as he’s much smaller and nimbler. This battle doesn’t take place anywhere cramped though. It takes place in open sky so I can see what’s going on so Iron Man loses that advantage.
For this battle Starscream’s main advantage is that he’s made out of metal. In one of the Transformers movies he reattaches an arm that gets ripped off. Iron Man can’t do that. His limbs only come off. They don’t go back on. I see Starscream winning as he could take more damage than Iron Man who is undeneath the armour only a man.
